Baxi Commercial has appointed Andrew Maclagan as its new managing director.

In his new role, Mr Maclagan will be responsible for leading the growth of Baxi Commercial and driving it forward as one of the UK’s top suppliers of space and water heating solutions, including renewable and low to zero-carbon technologies, for the commercial market.

Mr Maclagan joined Baxi in 1993 and, during his time, was the director of Interpart, Baxi’s spare parts business for all of its UK brands. He played a key role both in helping to integrate multiple brands and businesses, and in the call centre being ranked number 13 out of the UK’s top 50 call centres. He also managed the British Gas account, which saw Baxi appointed as one of two boiler partners.

Mr Maclagan was appointed UK procurement director in 2006 and retains this role.

Of his new appointment, he said: “I have worked for Baxi for 21 years and over that period many changes have taken place. Pleasingly, though, we are bigger and stronger than ever as a result, and my aim is to drive this growth further and ensure we excel at what we do and that our customers find us even easier to deal with.

“Looking forward, Ecodesign and Energy Labelling will be here in September 2015 and it’s going to have a huge effect on our market. The planning from our side is already well underway and our efforts will be focused on being well prepared for the directives and helping our customers through the transition.”
