W.Howard Group has made a significant investment in a new warehousing facility in Glazebury, near Warrington in Cheshire.

The 4.5-acre site on Albion Park was purchased in October 2018, and was previously a manufacturing facility. W.Howard has spent the last few months renovating it, and transforming it ready for use as a storage facility for the company’s wide range of quality MDF profiles.

W.Howard Group made the investment to improve its storage capacity, which means it can hold more stock on the ground and will be able to fulfil its customer orders faster and more efficiently.

Simon Fleet, Group Commercial Director at W.Howard, explains: “It’s an exciting time for W.Howard Group. Our business is growing, and we knew we needed more stocking capacity to facilitate our continued growth over the coming years. The new warehouse space means we can hold the right stock for our customers, at the right time, so that we can better support them and their business needs.”

W.Howard Group will stock its entire product range at the 6,000m2 site, which can hold approximately 2,500 packs of finished goods at any one time. These will include MDF skirtings, window boards, door linings and architraves, as well as its bespoke, veneered and wrapped products.

The W.Howard Group has one of the largest ranges in Europe, with over 200 different profiles and sizes available either as part of the core range, or as a made-to-order product.

The warehouse is situated less than five miles from the W.Howard Group’s manufacturing headquarters in Astley, near Manchester, and is conveniently located near the M62, from where the MDF profile manufacturer can dispatch deliveries to all corners of the country.

From Albion Park, W.Howard’s own fleet of vehicles will supply customers across England, Wales and Scotland, with deliveries also being sent down to the London distribution hub, which supplies merchants and customers based inside the M25 area.

Customers in Northern Ireland and Ireland will continue to be supplied by the W.Howard factory in Kildare.

As well as warehousing space, the Albion Park site will have meeting rooms and office space where, later in the year, customers will be able to visit W.Howard Group, learn more about the company and how it can support them, and also hold their own meetings.

As part of the company’s investment, five new jobs have been created to help boost the local community.
