Polypipe is recruiting shipmates for its 20th charity yacht regatta.

The race returns to Portsmouth on Thursday 6 September, when around 50 vessels will set sail and compete. Each entrant will be assisted by an experienced skipper and a mate - so you can still take part if you have no sailing experience.

Last year’s event raised more than £10,000 Help for Heroes and the John Merricks Sailing Trust, and was won by Upson Consultancy and skipper Chris Brooks.

The event opens with a birthday celebration on the evening of Wednesday 5 September, giving attendees the chance to enjoy live music, street food, guest speakers, complimentary birthday cake and a welcome drink. The race will then be followed by a prize-giving ceremony and a raffle.

Cameron McLellan, Managing Director of Polypipe Building Products, said: “Over the last two decades, the Polypipe Regatta has developed into a hugely popular event that never disappoints. It is the perfect chance for guests to get together, compete and enjoy the festivities.

“We would be delighted to welcome customers and friends to the regatta’s 20th anniversary celebrations. Last year’s event was a great success and we intend to go one better and make this year’s regatta a day to remember, while continuing to support our regatta charities Help for Heroes and the John Merricks Sailing Trust.”
