Carl Kammerling International has reconfigured and improved its popular C.K tools RedLine VDE High Leverage Side Cutters, making them safer and easier than ever to cut through electrical cables.

The cutters’ new slimmer profile offers easier access in tight spaces, while the special high leverage design maximises the transmission of force from handle to cutting jaws thereby taking the strain out of cutting through thick cables up to 6mm in diameter.

Available in 180mm (RRP £31.45) and 200mm (RRP £34.84), the C.K High Leverage Side Cutters feature induction hardened alloy steel jaws for exceptional strength and outstanding long-term performance, while two component ergonomic design anti-slip horns provide increased comfort, control and safety.

The new and improved High Leverage Side Cutters are part of a wider range of C.K Redline VDE products, which are amongst the safest pliers and cutters on the market. Not only do they conform to the international standard EN60900 having undergone individual testing to 10,000V, they are also certified by the VDE institute.

German engineered, with a special blend of high performance C60 steel, the new C.K High Leverage Side Cutters require significantly less force than the previous model.

Charles Whitfield, New Product Development Manager for Carl Kammerling International, commented: “Improving the performance and efficiency of our products is always a priority for Carl Kammerling as we strive to offer the best tools on the market for electricians. That’s why we enlisted an independent metallurgist to find not only the most durable metal to cut copper and aluminium, but also to establish the optimum geometry to provide easier cutting of wires.

“The result is our new High Leverage Side Cutters reduce the strain of cutting through thick cables thanks to the improved power and capability of the cutting jaw, significantly reducing the amount of force required by tradesmen. This, along with the slim line design, will transform the way professional electricians work as they can cut through cables in tight spaces safely as well as with less force.”
