Nigel Poyner, managing director of M&M Timber and one of the timber industry’s most notable figures, has left the 22 acre Worcestershire manufacturing plant he has developed over the last 15 years in order to seek pastures new.

Having chalked up more than 35 annual attendances at the Garden & Leisure Exhibition since his first show at just 19 years of age, Mr Poyner has risen to the pinnacle of his career with M&M Timber, a company credited with numerous industry firsts and regarded amongst the most innovative in advanced timber technology and manufacturing.

Year on year, M&M Timber’s huge range of garden and leisure products continued to appeal to the growing clientele of independent garden centres and retail outlets, while market development progressed with specialised landscaping timbers, but it was the fencing market that was to provide Mr Poyner’s company with its biggest challenge. Under his direction, the company introduced its trademark Agricised fencing products, spearheading an approach to guaranteed long-life fencing solutions.

Thanking his loyal staff, suppliers and customers for their support over the years, Mr Poyner is now looking forward to new challenges ahead and his long-standing experience sets him in good stead for whatever path he chooses to follow in the future.
