Keyline has appointed Mark Whittaker as business development director.

In this role, Mr Whittaker will manage the sector sales teams (rail, utilities, highways and geotechnics), as well as the national contractor/housebuilder business for Keyline. He is responsible for growing sales in line with Keyline’s five-year plan of sustainable development in the civils and heavyside building materials markets.

“The role will allow me to widen the exposure of these sectors to key contractors and suppliers, drive sector specialism, and introduce business initiatives on behalf of the Keyline brand,” he said.

With 29 years of experience in the industry, Mr Whittaker joins Keyline from Burdens, where he was regional trading director, looking after the Scotland, North and Central regions.

Keyline’s managing director Kieran Griffin said: “I am delighted to welcome Mark to this key role in the business. He will galvanise our position as the number one national merchant for civils in the UK by actively encouraging further engagement with the sector teams.”
