New HR director at Wolseley UK

Wolseley UK has appointed Joanne Smith as its new human resources director.

Ms Smith joins Wolseley UK from G4S, where she was human resources director for the UK and Ireland. Prior to that, she held HR director roles at Stansted Airport and Heathrow Express, part of BAA. During her career she has also held senior HR roles at Inchcape and National Grid.

In her new role, she will take responsibility for the overall strategic leadership of the human resources function across Wolseley’s UK businesses. She succeeds Karen Finn, who left the company in February 2014 to take up a new position at Wolseley Plc as director of people and organisation strategy.
