KENT: Vaillant, the European heating technology manufacturer, has named Aimee Patterson as an area sales manager covering the South West of England.

Ms Patterson won the BBC talent show 'Young Plumber of the Year' in 2010. She will work with installers, merchants, housing associations, architects and specifiers.

She joins Vaillant from Alpha Heating, where she was a technical sales manager. Though her role at Vaillant will be primarily sales-based, Ms Paterson is a qualified heating engineer, with experience of installing and maintaining domestic and commercial heating systems.

Based in Wiltshire, she has been working in the heating industry since 2005. "I believe training installers and informing them about new, renewable technologies is very important. There are so many new technologies out there, which need to be used moving forward – and Vaillant is an expert at providing training across a very wide range of heating technologies, including renewable products," she said.

"The industry is used to fitting gas boilers, but this is starting to change with the Code for Sustainable Homes and other installer and consumer incentives. Manufacturers such as Vaillant are providing excellent in-depth training to help installers move with the changes in the industry."
