Lightweight construction manufacturer, Siniat, has announced that four product sets have been verified by the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) mark.
Siniat partition systems, which provide 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes of fire resistance, have been verified against the CCPI, which was developed by the Construction Products Association’s (CPA) Marketing Integrity Group.
The Code is now administered by the not-for-profit Construction Product Information, ensuring that product information is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date, and unambiguous.
The four product sets now verified cover all of the partition systems publicised on Siniat’s website and in its Drywall Manual.
This recognition comes as part of a number of initiatives that Siniat has recently invested in to drive standards and increase fire safety competency. Recently, over 25 members of Etex Building Performance’s technical and specification teams underwent training and have now achieved the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) Level 3 qualification in passive fire protection.
Nigel Morrey, Technical Director at Siniat, commented: “The effective management of product information is essential to ensuring the performance and safety of our buildings. So, we warmly welcome the CCPI’s initiatives and it has been great to see manufacturers, merchants, and distributors signing up to the scheme.
“At Siniat, driving fire safety is – and always has been - a central focus for our team. This meant that acquiring CCPI verification for these sets was a natural step following the work we have already been doing to ensure the provision of high-quality performance data.
“However, we know that simply providing data is not enough. We need to drive competencies across the supply chain to ensure that the data provided can be received, interpreted, and understood with minimal complications.
“That’s why, alongside our investment in data provision, we have also been investing in external training for our supply chain partners while upskilling our internal teams to take them to IFE Level 3 in passive fire protection, which gives our customers the assurance they need to know that they are being supported by experts.”
Since the publication of the Hackitt Report, and subsequent revisions to building safety legislation, Etex’s plasterboard brand, Siniat, has also invested heavily in acquiring digitally-accessible third party EXAP classification reports for its portfolio of systems.
This investment means that third party fire classification reports are now provided as standard in project packs, and that all of its systems are compliant with the legislation laid out in the Building Safety Act and coinciding Approved documents.
Nadine Saxon, Operations Director at the Association for Specialist Fire Protection, added: “With a requirement for increased competencies across the industry, particularly in regards to fire safety, we are supporting a number of manufacturers on the provision of high quality product information and the upskilling of internal teams.
“With that in mind, it is brilliant to see that Etex Building Performance’s technical and specification teams have undertaken IFE training and achieved qualifications in Level 2 and Level 3 in Passive Fire Protection. Etex, like many of our members, has shown an eagerness to enhance building safety and drive competence which is visible not only through the training of its people but also through a number of its partitions now being CCPI verified.”
To support the provision of performance data, Siniat recently launched its new platform, MySiniat, that grants Siniat partners real time access to CAD files, fire classification reports, acoustic reports, and datasheets to enable a smooth specification proces,s while ensuring the provision of a ‘Golden Thread’ of information that can be accessed for any project, from anywhere, at any time.
