One of the UK’s leading manufacturers of water boosting solutions is celebrating after winning a global design award for one of its products.
Salamander Pumps’ AquaScan digital water multimeter has been recognised by the prestigious iF Design Award 2025. The awards are a globally established trademark when it comes to design excellence.
The highly competitive awards process saw a jury of 131 design professionals judging the innovation and design of almost 11,000 submissions from 66 different countries.
Other brands which were also recognised at the iF Design Awards 2025 include Hitachi, Apple, Fuji, LG, Phillips, Panasonic and Dell.
Launched in 2024, AquaScan is a portable, hand-held water measuring device, with four-in-one measurement capabilities including flow, pressure, temperature and water hardness, that delivers precise water insight.
The product includes a variety of accessories to connect to a range of outlets, including pipework, hoses, showers plus both indoor and outdoor taps. Guidance on AquaScan’s design was provided by Newcastle-based Reach Design.
The iF Design Awards are run by iF International Forum Design GmbH, one of the oldest independent design institutions in the world, for over 70 years.
Commenting on the award win, Claire Thompson, marketing director at Salamander Pumps, said: “As a business, we are committed to creating innovative products which are designed to help both our customers and the wider industry.
“AquaScan is an excellent example of this in action. The product has proven a huge success with installers and is the market’s first multimeter to provide precise water measurements.
“To be recognised with an iF Design Award for AquaScan is fantastic achievement and truly is testament to the in-house expertise Salamander Pumps has to design and develop industry-leading solutions.”
Last November, AquaScan won the Innovation Award at the Sunderland Business Excellence Awards while the team behind the product’s market launch won the product of the year category at the North East Marketing Awards. AquaScan was also recognised at the recent Pump Industry Awards 2025.
Salamander Pumps has widened its product offer over the last three years to provide its customers with new innovations and to achieve its expansion targets.
In addition to AquaScan, this includes launching water boosting products TapBoost and TankBoost.
