Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions, through its brands British Gypsum and Isover, has released the first episode of its new Building Better series.
Hosted by architectural designer and television personality Charlie Luxton, Building Better aims to deliver weekly "inspirational and thought-provoking content" via YouTube and the company's Building Better Hub.
The first episode of the series places a spotlight on the growing skills gap and the implications this is having across the sector.
It introduces the audience to a number of successful programmes by organisations across the country, such as Leeds College of Building, and businesses like V&D Interiors, which are actively shaping the future of the industry.
The video also features insights from industry experts, including Anthony Frayne, Customer Engagement Manager at CITB, and Hannah O’Brien from Youth Build Ventures UK, who share their perspectives on the wealth of employment opportunities in the construction sector.
Emphasising the relevance of the first episode, Rachel Kelly, Head of Brand for Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions, said: “The future of our industry will be enhanced by attracting and inspiring the next generation of skilled workers.
“This goes beyond simply filling jobs; it is about building a flourishing, sustainable construction sector that actively supports the development of apprentices, as well as upskilling existing professionals, to help create a solid future for the industry.
“This first episode of Building Better demonstrates just some of the commitments businesses and organisations across the country are making to help bridge the gap and provide young people with the resources and support they need to build a successful career in the construction industry.”
