Andy Sawers joins as Category Director for Timber, a role which will see him take charge of the development of timber sales in a number of key marketplaces.

SIG UK, the UK’s leading supplier of specialist building materials, has announced the appointment of industry stalwart Andy Sawers to lead its Timber category.

An important strategic hire for the business, Sawers joins SIG as Category Director for Timber, a role which will see him take charge of the development of timber sales in a number of key marketplaces.

With extensive experience across the timber industry, Sawers joins SIG UK from Södra Wood, where he served as Procurement Manager. Prior to this, he worked in a variety of procurement, sales, product development and marketing roles at some of the foremost names in timber importing and distribution, including James Latham, Wolseley UK and Saint Gobain.

Sawers will be responsible for liaising with SIG UK’s 150+ strong branch network, working in close partnership with them to consolidate and strengthen the timber offering to its customer-base.
