Robert Price has announced the opening of a Daikin Sustainable Energy Centre in Newport.
Attendees of the opening celebrations included Newport City Councillor Yvonne Forsey, the Mayor of Newport, Councillor Martyn Kellaway, and the Mayoress, Mrs Helen Kellaway. They were able to look round the new centre, meet experts from Robert Price and Daikin, and experience the latest Daikin heat pump technology.
Presentations on Daikin products and all the renewable technologies offered by Robert Price ran throughout the day, with Newport City Councillor Yvonne Forsey officially cutting the ribbon for the launch at 12:00pm.
The Robert Price Sustainable Energy Centre is also offering a launch event discount to anyone who places an order within three months of attending the event, and the first 20 visitors on the launch day were eligible to sign up for free heat pump training sessions at the centre.
All visitors on the day who register their details at the door, were entered into a prize draw with the chance to win two tickets to Wales vs New Zealand, Rugby Autumn International. In addition, a meal for two at Michelin Star restaurant ‘The Walnut Tree’ was up for grabs, and a bundle of Sustainable Energy Centre treats and prize goodies.
Kassie Williams, Sustainable Partnerships Manager at Robert Price, commented: “Opening our new Sustainable Home Centre is a fantastic milestone for our business and the local community. It will complement our overall renewable offerings package and help further develop the renewable energy market in Wales.
“We were thrilled to have local government representatives join us on our journey to help our local community become more sustainable.
“With our expert advice in all areas of building, plumbing, heating and renewable energy solutions, and Daikin’s market-leading domestic product range, there is something for everyone to benefit from, at the launch event and beyond.”
Following the launch event, the new centre will be a place for homeowners to familiarise themselves with air source heat pump technology, and to sit down with an expert to discuss the best heating and cooling solutions for their home, before they are partnered with a trusted local installer.
As well as providing a hub for homeowners, the centre houses a heat pump training centre to help the region’s plumbing and heating installers diversify into renewable heating solutions and ensure the long-term competitiveness of their businesses, as fossil fuel boilers are phased out.
Iain Bevan, Commercial Manager – Heating & Renewables at Daikin UK, added: “It’s important that homeowners who want to go green can easily access expert advice and guidance, helping them find the best solution for their household’s heating and hot water needs.
“Being able to explore and discuss heat pump technology in person is vital, as is knowing that it will be installed by a highly-trained professional - and that’s what our Sustainable Home Centres are all about.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Robert Price again, this time to launch a Daikin Sustainable Home Centre to help installers, energy experts and homeowners find the best renewable solutions for them while making a significant contribution towards our national net zero targets.”
