Hence, they are looking to recruit an experienced and successful Northern Regional Sales Director, reporting to the Sales Director, to develop and deliver the sales and wider commercial strategy in this part of the country, support the external sales team, and develop stronger relationships with major key accounts. With continued investment in people and products, they have the foundations in place, along with a supportive senior team and a positive family-feel culture.
Suitable candidates should have a successful track record in a similar Regional Sales Director role, ideally for a building products manufacturer, managing an external sales team selling into independent builders merchants and buying groups. Other channel experience is beneficial. Specific product or category knowledge is not essential, although some degree of technical appreciation is useful. We’re looking for individuals with a good understanding of this route to market along with credibility and gravitas. You’ll also need plenty of energy, drive and dynamism. Experience with a challenger brand would be particularly interesting.
Candidates living central to the Northern region are preferred, but in reality, this could be anywhere between Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds. The role will involve semi-national travel and attendance at events, trade shows, conferences, and award ceremonies, along with regular visits to their Midlands HQ.
