Luke Tuffield has taken on a gruelling ten-week training regime to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
A Branch Manager from Parker Building Supplies will take part in a men’s charity boxing show on 3 December to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Luke Tuffield has taken on a gruelling ten-week training regime to prepare him for the three two-minute rounds in the ring. Tuffield is training five times a week and has revolutionised his diet, to get him to his optimum fighting weight for his bout in front of an audience of 1000+.
Tuffield said: “Cancer has touched my family more than once and the work the amazing team at Macmillan Cancer Support do is inspirational. Standing in a ring being punched for six minutes is nothing compared to what people with cancer endure on a daily basis."
Since beginning his training, Tuffield has lost approximately 8kg. He said: “I’m in the best shape since my teens and boxing is definitely a hobby I will continue after the show in December. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, and to the amazing team at Parkers, who is providing me with so much support. It is hugely appreciated.”
The Men’s Charity Boxing Show takes place at the Kent Showground on December 3. Doors open at 2pm, and Luke’s bout is scheduled for between 7.30 – 9.30 pm. Donations can be made at justgiving.com/fundraising/luketuffieldboxing. Tickets can be purchased via Luke in branch in Faversham or at www.menscharityboxing.com
