Nine employees from KBB distributor PJH dusted off their walking boots and woolly hats in preparation for a challenging hike to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (also known as Mount Snowdon), North Wales, to raise fund for Macmillan.

Rob Brooks, Kim Cooper, Sally Hough, Julie Lockwood, Rob McKie, Tanna Molyneux, Tara Morrison, Ian Parkinson, and Carl Wheatley from PJH’s Marketing & Product Team, trekked 15kms, via the Llanberis path, taking eight hours to complete their challenge.

The team's efforts helped raise £2,773 for PJH’s chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support – smashing the original £800 target by a staggering 347%.

Despite dense fog and poor visibility on the ascent, spirits were high as the team tackled the long steep path to the top of Yr Wyddfa, the highest mountain in the British Isles outside of the Scottish Highlands.

Fortunately, the fog lifted at the 3,560ft summit, revealing beautiful blue skies and spectacular views across the Snowdonia National Park!

Kim Cooper, PJH’s Head of Marketing & Product, said: “We are delighted to have raised so much money through this latest PJH employee fundraiser for Macmillan. The hike up to the summit and back had its challenges, but team spirit was high and ‘Together we’re better’!

“The Macmillan charity is such an amazing organisation that makes a huge difference to the lives of millions of people affected by cancer, and we are pleased to add to our fundraising pot - which has a target of £10,000 that PJH pledges to double as soon as we reach it!”

Throughout the last year, PJH staff members have organised a variety of fundraising activities, from ‘Three Peaks’ climbs to bake sales, and football tournaments to fun days, with the determination to meet the £10,000 goal, while also communicating the importance of Macmillan Cancer Support's work.
