Bob Hill, who was a director at T Butt and Son of Stroud, Gloucestershire, passed away on 28 August, 2015.
Butt’s, as the builders’ merchant was known, was a local institution and landmark with 200 years of history. When Mr Hill contracted cancer he and his father, Ken Hill, decided to sell the company to Travis Perkins.
Mr Hill fought back and had eight further years with his wife Carolynne to enjoy his sporting passions: Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, cricket in Barbados, and Stenhousemuir Football Club where he was a director.
