David Warriner has extensive experience working across the building materials sector both on the merchant and supply side.

David Warriner has joined IBC Buying Group as its new Business Development Manager for the Scotland, North & Midlands region.

He has extensive experience working across the building materials sector both on the merchant and supply side, having previously held business development and account manager roles with both Beesley & Fildes and Tarmac. In fact, such is David’s commitment to his work, that while working at Tarmac he studied for a degree in Mineral Extractive Technologies to better understand the company’s product range!

Having joined IBC Buying Group on 1 December, 2024, David will soon be travelling throughout the region meeting IBC’s merchants and beginning to build the long-lasting relationships that IBC Buying Group is known for.

David said: “I am delighted to join IBC Buying Group and can’t wait to meet our members. I have a passion for developing relationships and helping people, and I love that such a big part of my role will involve helping our members grow their sales and profitability.

“I am particularly impressed by IBC Buying Group’s member-first strategy. Developing long-lasting relationships is a skill that I am very proud of and I think it really helps to have experience in both the manufacturing and merchant side of the industry. I’ll be working closely with our suppliers to keep our members updated with new opportunities and making sure they are getting the very best deals to help them grow.”

Stuart Stockley, Managing Director of IBC Buying Group, said: “When we were recruiting for our new Business Development Manager, we were particularly impressed by David’s extensive industry knowledge. At IBC our focus is all about putting the needs of our members first, and David’s previous experience will really help him to hit the ground running and give our members all the support they need.”
