Naylor marked the official opening of its new head office and recent investments in additional manufacturing capacity and capability last week with a customer event at its Cawthorne site in Yorkshire.
Held to showcase the impact of the £10-million invested by Naylor at the site during the last two years, the event was attended by key customers, including major merchant groups, regional civils and infrastructure merchants, civils contractors and representatives from National Highways, John Newcomb, Chief Executive of Builders Merchants Federation (BMF), Councillor Sir Steve Houghton CBE, Leader of Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, and Dame Hilary Chapman DBE, the Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire. The event included an official office opening with Edward Naylor and Naylor MD Richard Edwards, and a guided tour of Naylor’s new manufacturing facilities.
Newcomb commented: “At a time when many in the construction industry are reluctant to invest due to concerns about a current dip in the market, I’m delighted to see Naylor taking the long term view and underlining its confidence in the industry by investing heavily in everything from the expansion of its production facilities and new offices to the update of its brand and marketing.
“Naylor is a shining example of a British manufacturing business that has evolved to adapt to the changing needs of its merchant customers and one which is making the investment required to ensure merchants can perform their vital role in the construction supply chain.”
Naylor’s event comes at the end of what Naylor recently described as a transformational year, and marks the culmination of the first phase of an investment programme being undertaken by the business to ensure it can capitalise on growth opportunities in current and new markets.
Part of a strategic growth plan, Naylor sees its ongoing programme of investment in product development, marketing and manufacturing at its sites in Cawthorne, Yorkshire and Methil in Scotland as underlining its commitment to providing merchants and end users with the high-performance products they require and to ensuring high levels of product availability.
