MKM Building Supplies has announced the opening of a second branch in Lincoln, and the renovation and expansion of its Sheffield South Branch, to be renamed MKM Sheffield Parkway.

The new 20,000 sq. ft. branch in Lincoln is located on the Bishops Trade Park, complementing an existing site for the merchant in North Hykeham. The opening of MKM Lincoln North will bring a fully-stocked trade counter and state-of-the-art kitchen and bathroom showroom to the north of the city, with the new site boasting excellent transport links via Lincoln’s ring road.

Work is already well underway on the MKM Lincoln North branch, with doors set to open to the trade and public in Autumn 2022. 

The new branch will be headed up by Aiden Williams and Steve Redmile, who bring together many years experience within the merchant sector and with MKM. Williams said: “We can’t wait to open the doors of our brand new branch in Lincoln. Opening a second branch in the city is testament to MKM’s commitment to providing first rate customer service and unbeatable product choice to tradesman.”

Neil Riseham is Head of Property at MKM Building Supplies and is overseeing the build of MKM Lincoln North, in conjunction with property developers Padley. Riseham commented: “When it comes to identifying the right location for a new branch, there are several key factors to consider.

“This includes ensuring we have adequate space for a showroom and yard, alongside proximity to excellent transport links to guarantee convenience for busy tradespeople. I’m pleased to say our new plot for Lincoln North delivers on all fronts! 

“Alongside providing everything tradespeople need to do their job, the new site’s location makes it ideal for homeowners too, giving them ample opportunity to call in and browse our high-end kitchen and bathroom displays.”

Meanwhile, the newly renamed MKM Sheffield Parkway, which has been trading since 2007, has seen its kitchen and bathroom showroom double in size.

A new yard space has been developed for the branch in order to store more building, landscaping, and timber supplies, while internal office and sale areas are set to be refurbished. The visitor’s car park has also been expanded.

“The branch location has been trading for around 15 years now, and the rebrand to MKM Sheffield Parkway, an expansion of facilities and a refurbishment just proves to our customer base what they’ve always known; we’re committed to offering the best in service, product and price. These changes help facilitate that offering,” explains Ian Wild, Branch Director.

“The expansion of our high-spec’ kitchen and bathroom showroom provides an even larger in-branch offering alongside our building, plumbing and heating, and timber products, truly making us a one-stop-shop for all building and DIY needs.”

The newly branded MKM Sheffield Parkway is an independently ran merchant, part of the nationwide MKM Building Supplies network. It is, however, is unique in that it also has a brickyard nearby, offering a comprehensive range of bricks and associated accessories.
