Crawley MP, Henry Smith, officially opened the extended Laker Builders Merchant shop.

Following the acquisition of an additional unit at the Crawley branch, the team at Laker, led by MD Steve Robinson and Founder Ady Laker have created a new spacious and brightly lit space, offering a more welcoming atmosphere for non-trade customers.

Robinson says: “This new shop allows Laker to be much more retail friendly, whilst still giving our core trade customers the excellent service they expect from us.”

The larger unit the shop is run as a forklift free zone to prioritise on customer safety. In addition, Laker has provided improved access and parking for up to 12 customers, while completely modernising the whole branch, in line with their green ethos. This meant the shop was properly insulated, and equipped with LED lighting and air source heat pumps, using eco-friendly R32 gas.

To mark the official opening led by the local MP, a day of fun was created with games and challenges for those attending to win prizes and giving extra discounts were provided by suppliers. This was done in support of Laker’s nominated charity for 2022: Men’s Shed, which focuses on reducing isolation among men.

In celebration of the new modern shop, Laker is offering up to 20% discount with all new trade accounts for the next 2 weeks.
