Chris Harrison has joined Lawsons Group as its new Group Finance Director, succeeding to Paul Rushent, who retired earlier this year.

Harrison’s appointment to the Board continues the journey of a Group founded in 1921 which sees three generations of the Lawson family delivering family values and a professional service to other similar businesses in the UK construction sector.

Harrison is a Fellow of the ICAEW, as well as a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. He joins Lawsons after five years with Inland Homes PLC and eight years with Colas Rail UK. He commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the next Group Finance Director of Lawsons Group.

“It is a value-based business that is steeped in tradition, cares deeply about its people and its family values and professional service ethos has seen it grow significantly.

“I am privileged to join the Board at a time when the business is well positioned and there are more plans for our growth.

“Lawsons Group is well placed to support the UK Merchant Market which is worth £27 billion to the UK economy each year and become the employer of choice for those seeking a long term career in the Builders Merchant sector in the South East.”

Jeremy Norris, MD of Lawsons, added: “we are delighted to have Chris join the team at this point in the group’s evolution.

“His background and previous experience will prove invaluable as we continue to scale the business as well as expand the range of products and services we can supply to our customers.”
