BRISTOL: Lafarge Plasterboard, one of the UK’s leading plasterboard and drylining systems manufacturers has signed a further two year deal with the National Buying Group (NBG) to be the single source supplier of plasterboards for NBG in the UK market.

The National Buying Group is an independent, progressive and fast growing group of privately owned builders’ merchants based throughout the UK. With a group collective turnover of £750m and over 200 branches across the UK, NBG is a power-buyer representing 77 member independent builders merchants in the UK.

NBG is a major customer of Lafarge Plasterboard and Lafarge Cement UK bagged products. The agreement consists of three separate deals, covering Lafarge’s Plasterboard, Aggregates and Cement divisions. The two-year deal is a testament to NBG’s satisfaction with Lafarge’s superior quality across all product ranges in all three divisions.

Neil Ash, sales director for Lafarge Plasterboard said: “Strong supplier relationships are key for NBG as they aim to offer top quality products with the latest technology to their associates and end-users throughout the UK. We have worked successfully with NBG for the past five years and this agreement is proof of our ongoing commitment to delivering great products and services to builders’ merchants and their customers.”

Lafarge Plasterboard faced stiff competition but succeeded in securing the deal due to its expertise, reputation and efficient sales force. Allan Durning, executive chairman of NBG said: “We are pleased to achieve this commercial deal with Lafarge. This new agreement is another key success for NBG in the UK, giving our members continued cost competitive supply of top quality products.”
