LUTON: Following a selection process Luton Borough Council has selected Jewson, the UK supplier of sustainable timber and building materials, to supply its Building and Technical Service Division.
For the team at Luton BTS, consolidating all materials purchased through Jewson as a single supplier is resulting in significant cost and efficiency savings.
The Building and Technical Service Division partnered with Jewson to streamline its programmed maintenance and reactive repair service to the council's residential properties and operational buildings.
A procurement process was implemented by Luton Borough Council to ensure that Jewson would provide overall value for money. Jewson was able to deliver a number of tailored services, which will include a dedicated counter staff at a local Dallow Road branch, electronic reports and consolidated invoicing to improve efficiency. Moving forward, Jewson will be working with Luton BTS on an integrated IT package to achieve even greater efficiencies across the materials purchasing process.
“The change in supplier was a significant adjustment for the Building and Technical Services team," commented Helen Bristow finance manager at the Luton BTS. “However, the team at Jewson has worked with us to ensure the transition has been as smooth as possible. We are now able to deliver an even more efficient repair and maintenance service across our building stock and we look forward to developing the partnership with Jewson to generate even greater benefits in the future."
