The Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG) has announced it has acquired Merkko Builders Merchants Ltd (Merkko), expanding its network of builders merchants into Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
Headquartered in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, with two branches in Kingston Bagpuize and Aldermaston, Merkko is an independent builders merchant supplying trade and retail customers across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
Following its recent merger with Grant & Stone, this acquisition continues IBMG’s strategy of developing its divisions through a combination of acquisition, new site development and organic growth.
Strategically it will extend the IBMG’s builder’s merchant offering, providing a strong platform for further growth. Merkko will join Grant & Stone and Ian Duckitt, Merkko’s owner, will continue with the business working with Mat Miller, Managing Director for Grant & Stone Builders Merchants, to ensure Merkko’s successful integration into the Group.
