Heidelberg Materials UK has received a Clear Assured Bronze accreditation in recognition of its efforts to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace and the wider industry.

Clear Assured is a globally recognised standard run by assessment body The Clear Company, and designed to evaluate and validate an organisation’s EDI progress.

Heidelberg Materials’ fairness, awareness, inclusion and respect (FAIR) strategy has seen the implementation of key initiatives, including recruitment equality targets, an unconscious bias education programme for managers, and improved maternity, paternity and shared parental leave policies.

Since beginning its Clear Assured journey, the company has seen positive changes across multiple business areas, such as increased employee engagement, stronger employee connections through support networks and a more inclusive, collaborative workplace culture.

Gareth Day, Managing Director Asphalt and Contracting at Heidelberg Materials UK, said: “We are proud to have achieved the Bronze Clear Assured accreditation, reflecting our ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.

“We remain focused on advancing our Clear Assured journey and will continue to build on our efforts to strengthen our reputation as an employer of choice.”
