They see plenty of opportunity for growth and improvement, across various routes to market with their products then sold through builders and plumbers merchants and bathroom showrooms.  The business has a strong sustainability message to take to this market which could now be very well received.

To support and develop their team and deliver growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced and successful Head of Sales for the North & Midlands, reporting directly to the Sales Director. With continued investment in facilities, people, and products, they have the foundations in place, along with a supportive senior team. This role has direct responsibility for three Business Development Managers along with ownership at boardroom level of key accounts.

Suitable candidates should have a successful track record in a similar Head of Sales/Regional Sales Management role in a similar environment, hence a good understanding of some kind of bathroom or building product that is sold via builders and plumbers merchants.  Specific product or category knowledge is not essential: it could be kitchens, appliances, doors & windows, bathroom products, flooring or others. We’re looking for individuals with a strong network of contacts and an excellent reputation with merchants, and some of the following: local authorities, social housing providers, offsite/modular and regional housebuilders which will enable them to open doors and get in front of the right people.

Leadership experience of an external sales team is a prerequisite.   This should be a modern, professional, supportive, empathetic and encouraging leadership style.

You should ideally be centrally based within the region, nowhere too remote; otherwise, travelling will be difficult.  There will also be a requirement to occasionally travel to the Southeast-based Head Office.  Occasional overnight stays will be required.
