UK: Door and window component specialist grouphomesafe has announced the sale of its composite doors business to the Britdoors Group as part of a strategic realignment of its product offer. This sale closely follows grouphomesafe’s acquisition of Fab & Fix, the UK’s leading designer and distributor of perfectly matching hardware.

Darren Waters, chief executive officer for grouphomesafe, said: “Following my arrival in February this year, we undertook a complete strategic review of the business, evaluating our entire product offering. We concluded that composite doors was not a good fit with the rest of the grouphomesafe portfolio and that we wanted to refocus the business as a supplier of quality door and window components.

“This sale, in conjunction with our acquisition of Fab & Fix last month, completes the jigsaw and means we are now in an excellent position to offer our customers an unrivalled package of products, underlining our determination to become the UK’s number one supplier of components to the door and window industry.”

Following the sale, Britdoors will market the Homesafe Doors and Securidor brands from its existing manufacturing facility in Newent, Gloucestershire. In the case of Homesafe Doors, this brand will be sold under licence from grouphomesafe. All employees on the composite door side of the business have transferred to Britdoors, apart from some field-based sales personnel, who will be remaining with the grouphomesafe team.

Grouphomesafe’s component brands include Balance UK, ERA, EWS, Fab & Fix, Linear and Schlegel.
