Grant UK has announced the appointments of Steven Paton as Area Sales Manager for the North of Scotland, and Rob Dyer as Sales Support Engineer for the Midlands and East of England.
Providing sales support to Northern Scotland, Steven Paton is the new Area Sales Manager for the counties of Perth, Kinross, Fife, Angus, Aberdeenshire, Moray, the Highlands and the Scottish Isles.
Meanwhile, providing renewables technical support in the Midlands and East of England is Rob Dyer, the new Sales Support Engineer working throughout the counties between Sussex and Norfolk and from Lincolnshire to Cheshire.
Paton has been involved in the heating and plumbing industry for nineteen years, completing his Level 3 Mechanical Plumbing Apprenticeship before gaining his qualifications in commercial gas, LPG, oil and renewables.
During his working life, he has been an engineer for a local plumbing and heating company, worked for a national energy provider, and for seven years, was self-employed running his own business, before joining the technical product management team of a gas boiler manufacturer.
Over the years, Paton has regularly worked with Grant oil boilers and, more recently, he has been involved in projects involving Aerona³ air source heat pumps so he has much experience working closely with all of Grant’s product ranges.
Dyer has been working in the heating industry for over twenty years. His career started with specialising in controls wiring, working on large HVAC systems for commercial properties including Canary Wharf, Kings College Hospital, The Gherkin and Oxford University.
He later moved into the domestic and commercial renewables sector, starting as an installer for an installation company, before going on to manage installations and become its MCS Nominated Technical Person in biomass, solar PV, solar thermal and air source heat pump technologies.
More recently, Dyer set up a company that provided maintenance solutions for renewable technologies, as well as carrying out installations, many of which were Grant biomass, heat pump and solar thermal systems, so that he has lots of design and hands-on experience with Grant’s renewable product offering.
Both Paton and Dyer are looking forward to their new roles at Grant UK. Paton said: “I am looking forward to working with G1 installers, merchants and new customers, providing them with the sales and product support they need.
“It is an exciting time to be in the heating industry with the transition to renewables and working towards the net zero targets ahead of us, and I am looking forward to taking this journey with our customers as part of the Grant Team.”
Dyer added: “What I am looking forward to the most is helping people out.
“In my previous role, my work was focused around helping consumers and the end-user but as Grant UK’s new Sales Support Engineer, I will be able to help installers, sharing my experience and knowledge with them and giving them the confidence to be able to make the move from installing oil or gas boilers into confidently installing heat pumps.”
