SIG Roofing is rolling out a series of these events across its national network of branches throughout October and November.

Following hot on the heels after announcing its sponsorship of the Band of Builders, and to coincide with World Metal Health Day on Thursday 10 October, SIG Roofing is rolling out a series of Big Brew events across its national network of branches throughout October and November.

The Big Brew is an annual campaign started by the Band of Builders, that encourages tradespeople to come together over a cuppa to support one another and remove the taboo around mental health.

Everyone who attends is advised to know their ‘STATS’, as a great way to start conversations around the issue of mental health: it could be the thing that prompts someone to open up or ask for help.

‘Support each other. Talk about it. Always ask twice. Take it seriously. Stop the cycle.’

This initiative aims to raise awareness, address the unique challenges faced by workers and colleagues, and generate funds to support wellbeing services for the UK construction industry. Join the conversation at your local SIG Roofing branch, enjoy a brew, and #GiveYourselfABreak.

At these events there will be giveaways and opportunities to donate to this important cause. Every contribution helps: £10 gives a construction worker access to the Community Assistance Programme, £20 funds a 24/7 text support service for a full day, offering round-the-clock mental health support, and £75 provides a one-to-one therapy session with a licensed professional.

No matter the amount, your donation makes a real difference. Visit your local SIG Roofing this October and November and be part of the Big Brew.

SIG Roofing recently partnered with the Band of Builders, who provide practical, financial, and well-being support to members of the UK construction industry. It’s estimated that up to two people a day take their own lives in this sector. If you’re struggling, use the free support by texting BOB to 85258.
