Gibbs & Dandy has teamed up with physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic Urban Body to offer the free sessions.
Construction work is one of the most physically demanding jobs there is, with 30% of construction workers suffering from back issues at some point in their careers.
Although many injuries or niggles are rectifiable, the majority of builders continue to suffer in silence, with shoulder and knee pain stated as one of leading causes of lost working days in the UK.
In a bid to battle against this rising endemic, Gibbs & Dandy has started to roll out free physiotherapy sessions across its branches.
The first two sessions, hosted for customers and staff in Stevenage and Kettering, invited customers to receive free advice and treatment for their injuries from experts at Urban Body.
The Urban Body team were on hand to deliver step-by-step plans and effective hands-on therapy for conditions that may have otherwise gone untreated.
Urban Body’s Lead Physiotherapist Phil Evans commented: “We are touring Gibbs & Dandy branches up and down the country to help customers feeling the effects of their physically demanding jobs.
“The issues we’re seeing are flat feet, aching legs and sore lower backs due to wear and tear and lifting awkward loads.
“Our team of physios are offering free strengthening advice for the trunk, core and hamstrings, as well as hands on treatment including spine mobilisation, soft tissue work and massage to the lower back and glutes.
“We look forward to helping many more people by equipping them with the tools they need to stay pain free as they work.”
The pilot sessions proved so successful that Gibbs & Dandy will now be rolling out the programme nationwide in 2022.
