Frank Elkins, CEO of Selco and GB Distribution at Grafton Group, has been elected to the Board of the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) for a second term.

Elkins' career has been in merchanting for over 30 years. He served as a BMF Board member for two years, from April 2021 to April 2023, while he was Group COO at Travis Perkins.

In his current role, he is responsible for the leadership and strategic development of Grafton Group’s distribution businesses in Great Britain. He is passionate about the building materials sector, particularly the development of the customer proposition through modernisation, the ongoing raising of standards in health, safety and well-being, and the opportunity to bring a more diverse group of young people into the industry.

Elkins will take specific responsibility for “People and Skills”, one of four strategic themes in the BMF’s strategy roadmap, each with its own Board owner.

BMF Chairman Richard Hill said: “I am delighted to welcome Frank back to the Board for a second term. His expertise and dedication will be invaluable as we continue to drive innovation, develop the skills of those in the sector and build greater public awareness of our industry and the opportunities it offers.”

BMF CEO John Newcomb said: “Frank’s wealth of experience and passion for the industry and those working within it make him an excellent board member for the BMF.  I am looking forward to working with him once again.”
