The local timber and builders’ merchants, based in Stoke on Trent and Telford, have supported Trentham Rugby Club’s under 11’s team as the shirt sponsor for the 2024-2025 season.

The importance of keeping things local has seen Emerys Timber and Builders’ Merchants offer much needed support to Trentham Rugby Club.

Trentham Rugby Club’s Under 11 team didn’t have a team kit and players were wearing hand-me-downs from players higher up in the club. After Emerys stepped in as shirt sponsor the team has started the season well and really coming together as a unit.

Ten-year-old Tom Walton said: “We are really thankful to Emerys for being our shirt sponsor. It’s amazing that someone is supporting us and it really makes us look like a proper team. I can’t wait for the rest of the season and to continue showing off our new kit.”

At a time when the industry is looking at the skill shortages investing in young people is key. Many of those at primary school age don’t know what a builders’ merchants is and so having investment from a merchant at a young age is key and helping to spread the word about the sector.

Emerys Timber and Builders’ Merchant is part of the Joseph Parr Group, and following its establishment in 1883 is now one of the top 20 builders’ merchants in the UK.
