GERMANY: Duravit is setting up its own subsidiary in Australia. The new trading base will underpin the successful expansion of the business and is expected to increase levels of brand acceptance significantly, not just in Australia but also in New Zealand and the entire Oceanic region.
Head of the new organisation will be Gary Dart, managing director for Duravit UK since 2002.
Mr Dart will share his time between the new office and the UK, where an increased management structure is being implemented to ensure continued stability. Christopher Duvenhague has already joined the team as operations manager and Gary is now looking to appoint a sales director, ensuring ‘business as usual’ for Duravit staff, partners and customers.
Duravit chairman Franz Kook emphasises the importance of increasing the brand’s presence in countries like Australia as a significant building block in the company’s international expansion. “The Australian economy has experienced many years of continuous growth and provides a solid platform to launch our bathroom designs successfully ‘down under’.”
