Dulux Decorator Centre has announced the appointment of Sarah Atkins as its new Managing Director, effective 1 February.

Atkins joined the business eight years ago as Marketing Lead, before progressing to Head of Retail Marketing, and subsequently to Commercial Director in 2023. Her career has spanned omni-channel multi-site retail and wholesale organisations, financial services and leisure, and her experience has enabled her to drive successful commercial outcomes from both supplier and customer perspectives.

She succeeds Guy Butterworth, who, after 30 years of service, is leaving the business, having started out as a delivery driver. 

Commenting on her appointment, Atkins said: “Dulux Decorator Centre is a fantastic business, and I’ve loved shaping its commercial success over the past eight years. I am really looking forward to taking on this new challenge, helping the business to continue to go from strength to strength.

“It has been fantastic working with Guy, and my aim is to build on his work, supported closely by our talented team. Together, we will continue to strengthen our partnerships, and deliver exceptional value and expertise to all our customers.”

Atkins will sit in the wider AkzoNobel UK management team.
