Colleagues, customers and supply chain partners nationwide raised over £26k for Mates in Mind in 2024 via numerous fundraising events.

Civils & Lintels, part of the Huws Gray group of companies, has confirmed its ongoing support for Mates in Mind, a national charity that works in partnership with organisations, especially in the construction sector, to build positive mental health in and through work.

The announcement was made as Allan Wright, Managing Director of Civils & Lintels handed over a cheque for £26,413.50 that C&L colleagues, customers and supply chain partners nationwide raised in 2024 via numerous fundraising events.

Wright said: “Fundraising, especially when the wider economic climate is challenging, can be tricky unless the cause in question truly resonates with those who you’re relying on to raise the funds.

“Mates in Mind, with its commitment to addressing issues around mental health within the construction sector certainly has a clear synergy, not only with our own team but also with those with whom we’re working daily. They’re delivering a vital service, and I am both proud and grateful for the support that our team and partners have given which has enabled us to raise this significant amount of money.”

Sam Downie, Managing Director at Mates in Mind, said: “We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Civils & Lintels, not least for its generosity in terms of time spent and money raised, but also in terms of its dedication and creativity in raising awareness of mental health.

“It started the year with a highly effective way to raise awareness of mental health when it added Mates in Mind signage to the back of its 95 LGV lorries which drive across the UK, spreading the message that you are not alone and encouraging people to text BEAMATE to 85258 for support.

"Civils & Lintels is also also part of our community, working together we are building positive mental health in and through work, and thereby creating a sector where work is good for workers.”
