City Plumbing has launched a digital boiler diagnostic subscription – the first of its kind to suggest solutions to all faults.

The aim of the new service is to help heating engineers by reducing the time spent on jobs, increasing their work capabilities, and boosting their customer satisfaction.

Called FaultFinder, the service is designed to be an easy-to-use tool. Even if the boiler doesn’t have a visible fault code, the tool can help; in these cases, users simply complete a quick but comprehensive symptoms questionnaire to get an instant diagnosis and the system can select from over 800 outcomes.

The diagnostic database allows engineers to diagnose and fix over 13,000 gas, electric and oil boilers, including older models. Once the problem has been identified, FaultFinder will recommend the parts required to complete the job, with over 7,000 products listed. The platform keeps a record of the fault report history and outcomes, to ensure it is constantly improving.

City Plumbing customers get three months free access. Subscription fees start from £9.99 a month for individual users.

Roz Kane at City Plumbing said: “FaultFinder is a revolutionary tool designed by City Plumbing experts and, after launching to housing providers, our updated tool with the ease and benefit of the affordable subscription fees will now help to transform heating engineers’ businesses.

“With hundreds of boiler repair solutions at their fingertips, not only will they build efficiencies into their day-to-day work, which could help them take on more work, but for larger teams or new recruits in the industry, it provides the knowledge and upskilling opportunities.

“The part recommendations function is a further benefit that will help our customers get their boiler maintenance and repair jobs done quicker and to a high standard, ensuring their own customers are happy in the process.”
