The Builders’ Merchants Awards ensured there were smiles aplenty at the end of a challenging year as 24 trophies were handed out to the very best the industry has to offer.
The longest running awards ceremony in the builders’ merchant sector celebrated its 21st anniversary at the magnificent Park Plaza in Westminster.
This year’s commemoration, held on Friday 25 November, was hosted by comedian Jason Manford, whose engaging and effortlessly charming style ensured the 700 present were richly entertained.
For more than two decades, the Builders Merchants Awards has offered the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the amazing people, teams, projects and innovations within the sector chosen by an extended panel of 17 judges.
Twenty-four awards were announced on the day which turned the spotlight on every part of the sector, showcasing the best in marketing and training, highlighting how companies supported their community and embracing those that ensure diversity and inclusion and sustainability is at the heart of everything it does.
EH Smith Builders Merchants stole the show, surpassing February’s BM awards hat-trick of trophies, by taking home a quartet this time around.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Mark Davies, who over the past four decades has transformed LBS Builders Merchant into the largest independent merchant in its region. A visionary, a truly inspirational leader and unbelievably hard worker, Davies has had a hugely successful and selfless career, endlessly putting back into the industry.
Thanks to the generosity of all attendees, more than £6,337 was raised and shared between Band of Builders and CRASH.
The next BM awards is at The Park Plaza on Friday 24 November 2023.
