The company has returned to the Scottish city, thanks to an in-store partnership with merchant Stiven.

Dundee holds a special place in Carhartt history as the authentic workwear specialist once had factories there.

Now the company has returned to the Scottish city, thanks to an in-store partnership with Stiven, the workwear, PPE, paints and hygiene merchant.

“Until just over 40 years ago, Carhartt had factories at Carolina Port and Baldovie in the city, as well as a shop in Murraygate, manufacturing jeans and overalls, so it is great to be back in a place that played a part in our company history,” said Nick Poulson, UK Country Manager.

“Thanks to Stiven, Carhartt will once again be here for the hardworking tradespeople in this part of Scotland.”

Like Carhartt, Stiven has a long, rich heritage and has existed under a variety of names for well over 100 years. Allison Gray, a Dundee based Workwear and PPE supplier, acquired the woodstains and paint business RC Stiven, forming Allison & Stiven. This company now includes a Hygiene Supplies division, and today Stiven has an online shopping hub as well.

Based in Dundee in a modern 20,000 square foot unit, Stiven’s showroom offers a comprehensive range of products from some of the world’s most trusted brands, including Carhartt. The Carhartt in-store display includes trousers, jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts and T-Shirts as well as caps and beanies, making it easy for tradespeople to find the right workwear for the job.
