The annual Awards recognise trade bodies that have delivered for its members or have made an outstanding contribution to its sector during the past 12 months.

The Builders Merchants Federation has been shortlisted in two categories of the prestigious Trade Association Forum Awards, the leading awards for the UK association sector.

The BMF is shortlisted for Trade Association of the Year and Best Association / Supplier Partnership.

Founded in 1997, the Trade Association Forum encourages the development and sharing of best practice among UK trade bodies and promotes the role of effective trade organisations to government and industry.

The BMF is the only trade association representing merchants and suppliers in the UK and Ireland. Its vision is to enable members to build excellence in building materials supply. Total membership from 1 September 2023 stands at 900 merchant and supplier companies who together have combined sales of over £44.5 billion and employ over 206,000 people in the building materials industry. BMF’s 456 merchant members operate from over 5,800 branches across the UK and Ireland.

BMF CEO John Newcomb said: “We are constantly striving to ensure our members gain value from their membership and entering awards such as these enables us to measure our professionalism and achievements against our peers. We are honoured and delighted that the BMF’s work on behalf of members has been acknowledged by TAF.”

The Award winners will be announced on 22 February 2024 at a ceremony in London.
