Ardex Group UK will be opening its doors to the public as part of a week-long event aimed at attracting young people and career changers to a career in construction.

Building Adhesives in Stoke-on-Trent and Ardex UK in Haverhill (both part of the Ardex Group) will take part in Open Doors Week 2025 – which is delivered by Build UK.

The initiative offers a chance for the public to go behind the scenes of live construction sites, offices, factories, and training centres across the UK, and discover the diverse range of career paths on offer.

Open Doors takes place between Monday 17 and Saturday 22 March, with Building Adhesives opening for visitors on 17 and 20 March, and Ardex UK on 18 and 19 March.

There will be two sessions per day from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 4pm.

College students and members of the public will be able to discover all about the tiling, flooring and general construction sectors.

They will be able to find out about the skills needed for installation and see the types of systems used in modern-day construction with BAL, Ardex and Dunlop solutions.

Visitors will benefit from insights and will be able to take part in a Q&A with installation professionals who will give an overview of career opportunities with practical insight on what the roles involve, pros/cons of the job, and best next steps.

In addition, they can hear from R&D, operations, and sales and marketing specialists if these are career steps of interest.

The sessions at Building Adhesives will give visitors the chance to explore its refurbished Academy – with new training facilities due to open to the trade at the end of February.

Bookings are now available on the Open Doors website and through ArdexAcademy.UK.

Open Doors seeks to inspire young people and career changers of all ages to consider and explore a dynamic and exciting career in the construction industry.

Lewis Lupton, National Training Manager at the Ardex Group, said: “We are delighted to be involved in Open Doors this year and particularly excited to open our Academies in Stoke-on-Trent and Haverhill.

“It is a great platform for us to showcase the amazing flooring, tiling and general construction trades, and show how we support and help train the tradespeople of tomorrow through our Academies.

“It will also be a great opportunity to showcase our refurbished facilities in Stoke – with new training bays, a dedicated studio and better facilities for training.

“We look forward to welcoming colleges and anybody else looking to get into flooring or tiling.”

Suzannah Nichol, Build UK Chief Executive, said: “Many young people don’t know what they want to do when they leave school, so we have a fantastic opportunity to capture their imagination and show them just what they can achieve – whether they are considering college, an apprenticeship, or university.

“Open Doors also encourages career changers and members of the public to experience a construction project or construction industry in their local community. We all know the impact this can have and the powerful first impression it can make.”
