Are you ready for the IOBM Practical Skills Challenge?

Published:  01 October, 2014

Merchant teams can yet again pit their building skills against each other at the next Institute of Builders Merchants (IoBM) Practical Building Skills Challenge Event, which will take place on Thursday 23 October 2014.

The institute is calling for entries from teams of four to compete in a series of challenges covering carpentry and joinery, block paving, plastering and tiling. Now in its third year, the successful event is designed to offer merchant staff a taste of some of the main building trades.

Held at Leeds College of Building, the work is judged by tutors from the college and prizes for first and second will be awarded. All participants receive one year's free student membership to the IoBM for taking part.

There are still spaces available and bookings can be taken for teams of four or for individuals who will be allocated a team space. Contact Gill Sellick at admin@iobm.co.uk to secure your place.
