Expanding horizons in Sweden

Published:  05 September, 2014

Four members of staff from Snows Timber have had their business horizons expanded through a recent learning visit to the Swedish wood producer Setra.

The four – Snows Timber’s southern sales office manager Graham Parker, internal sales Nik Wells, and sales representatives Paul Cairns and Peter O’Rourke – were judged to be the company’s star performers of 2013. The trip represented both a reward and an opportunity to learn more about large-scale timber production at first hand.

The Snows Timber team visited a tree nursery at the very beginning of the Setra supply chain, moving on to harvesting in the Swedish forests, and visits to Setra’s Kastet redwood sawmill, Skutskar planning mill, and Heby whitewood sawmill.
