Jewson has been appointed as the main supplier for Denbigshire County Council (DCC) for the next three years.

The company will provide materials for the council's in-house team to repair and maintain its social housing stock.

“In December 2013, Jewson was appointed following a ‘price and quality’ based evaluation,” said Alan Jones, principal officer – maintenance, housing & community development at Denbighshire County Council. “This also included site visits to the two primary Jewson branches now servicing the needs of the contract: Rhyl and Denbigh.”

Mr Jones continued: “One single source of supply is extremely beneficial. Our teams predominantly handle reactive repairs and the ability to reduce unnecessary downtime means we can react quickly and efficiently. In addition, we are fully expecting that the new contract will help us to realise some significant financial savings moving forward.”

Stuart Reed, Jewson's public sector sales manager for the North West added: “We are delighted to be working with Denbighshire County Council. Our teams work collaboratively with supply chain partners to streamline efficiencies and achieve financial savings. We look forward to delivering improvements in the future through a combination of our services.”
