In response to extensive customer research, Baxi has announced a new name for its Interpart division - Baxi Genuine Parts.

From 15 July, 2014 Interpart will be rebranded as Baxi Genuine Parts, and will be included in all packaging, brochures and promotional material. Later in the year, customers can also expect to see the arrival of the new Baxi Genuine Parts website which will replace the former Interpart site. Other than the new name, the business will remain unchanged and continue to offer the same service.

Interpart has a 30-year history of supplying quality, rigorously tested spares and parts from all Baxi brands such as Potterton, Main, Heatrae Sadia and Andrews Water Heaters.

The move is part of Baxi’s continued focus on driving safety and quality standards in the UK’s heating spares sector. While the use of non-genuine parts is relatively low in the UK, the impact of unknowingly installing one can be huge; implicating the integrity of the installation, the safety of the homeowner and cost of ensuing repair work. In addition, they can cause the homeowner’s boiler warranty to be invalid.

David Willetts, general manager, Baxi Genuine Parts, said: “Following extensive research among both merchants and installers, it became apparent that the name Interpart didn’t quite capture our business offer.

“As such, we have introduced the new name to add greater clarity to the Baxi proposition of providing genuine parts from the original equipment manufacturers to give customers assurance of quality, safety, reliability and, in turn, peace of mind.”

He added: “For us, it’s all about the assurance of being genuine. While instances of non-genuine parts are uncommon, the problem is that a visual check will reveal little difference, so it can be difficult to determine if a spare really is the genuine article. However, the safety and cost implications of unknowingly using one can be huge, not to mention the reputational damage to both the merchant and installer.

“With this mind, the rebranded Baxi Genuine Parts is designed to drive the quality message and brand association so customers can be assured of getting the genuine article every time.”
