Ideal Boilers is welcoming local plumbing and heating engineers to its Reading Training Centre of Excellence on 26 and 27 June from 9.30am until 12.30pm.

The heating manufacturer is welcoming local plumbing and heating engineers to its Reading Training Centre of Excellence on 26 and 27 June from 9.30am until 12.30pm.

The open days are designed to highlight the free training Ideal offers to plumbing and heating engineers. The morning will comprise a number of activities including the ‘Ideal Challenge’ which involves stripping down an Ideal Logic+ boiler against the clock, and tours around the training centre. Breakfast will be served and there will be F1 racing simulators too.

Originally opened in April 2011, the Training Centre of Excellence has recently undergone a re-brand and expansion to the training courses it now offers as standard. Ideal’s national training manager, Chris Jones explained: “Since opening in 2011 we have had requests for additional training courses, which we have added to the list of courses we offer. Courses in ground- and air-source heat pumps, solar thermal and vented and un-vented hot water are now available.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Reading’s installers and engineers, especially as we are running the ‘Ideal Challenge’, which was recently undertaken by our friends from Hull City AFC, captain Curtis Davies and Republic of Ireland player Dave Meyler. We expect Reading’s finest to comfortably beat their times and show them how the professionals do it! There is a prize up for grabs for the fastest time.”

Mr Jones continued: “Also due to attend is Wokingham’s MP, the Rt Hon John Redwood who will be visiting us at 10am on Friday – we’re hoping to tempt him into taking part in the Ideal Challenge as well.”
