The Farnham branch of Rudridge, the specialist civil construction supplier based on the Coxbridge Estate, has become the first single branch to reach £1m sales of Marshalls products this year.

This is particularly important as Rudridge, a medium sized independent company operating in London and the South East, was up against many much larger national merchants in the race to meet the landmark figure.

The branch has been established in Farnham for 14 years, having begun trading in May 2000, and has been selling Marshalls’ products since the beginning. The site comprising under one acre is around a quarter of the size of some of the organisation’s immediate national competitors.

Each year Marshalls, the natural stone, concrete and hard landscaping manufacturer, logs organisational branch sales. These sales are benchmarked against all other merchants that sell their products and the branch to achieve the £1m target of sales first is awarded a bottle of Champagne. This year, Rudridge Farnham won the race and last month received its bottle of Champagne.

Duane Long, group sales manager, said: “On behalf of everyone at Rudridge, I would like to thank Marshalls for awarding the Farnham branch the bottle of Champagne, crowning us the first branch to reach £1m worth of Marshalls’ product sales this year.

“This is an outstanding achievement, especially as we are a small organisation compared to most of our immediate competitors, with many being national builders’ merchants. This of course, makes this achievement all the greater.”

Paul Duke, Farnham branch manager, added: “This is the first time a Rudridge branch has achieved this challenging target. We usually sell a large volume of Marshalls’ products out of the Farnham branch throughout the year, but this year we have been particularly successful much earlier than usual. Well done to my team who work hard every day to sell all our suppliers’ products to customers in the Farnham area.”
