Macmillan Cancer Support is Ideal Bathrooms’ new charity partner.
A good cause

Ideal Bathrooms has raised more than £15,000 for the children’s charity Barnardo’s through the efforts of employees who have given their time and money to support this worthwhile cause.
Barnardo’s partnership manager, Trina Gable, has worked with and supported the business throughout the partnership. She said: “It has been an absolute pleasure working with Ideal Bathrooms since we launched the partnership in May 2011. Everyone has made such an effort and given their time freely to support Barnardo’s. The money raised will help the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK and Ideal Bathrooms’ legacy is that Barnardo’s can continue to expand and reach out to even more children in need of our support.”
Fund raising events ranged from the Scafell Pike climb, which was tackled by 20 directors and staff from Ideal Bathrooms and sister company International Decorative Surfaces and raised over £4,600.
Ideal Bathrooms’ annual Christmas Party raised a further £2,000 to swell the charity funds and the annual Golf Day, sponsored by Twyford Bathrooms, added almost £1,000. Together with a host of other local events over the two years, Ideal Bathrooms’ contribution to the cause raised £15,595.28.
This year Macmillan Cancer Support has been chosen as the charity partner for 2014/15 and a number of activities have already taken place to raise funds to help Macmillan support those who need, and rely on, their assistance.
Head office staff at Milton Keynes held a charity week raising over £400 from cake sales, a silent auction, ‘a Green Day,’ balloon burst, a spellathon, car wash and others.
Following three years climbing Britain’s three highest peaks for charity, Ideal Bathrooms’ sales director Rob St Barbe and the Ideal Bathrooms’ sales team are planning another, and even greater, challenge for later in the year and hope to even exceed the amount raised by last year’s mass climb of Scafell Pike.
Ideal Bathrooms managing director, John Bagshaw, said: “We look forward to working alongside our customers and suppliers to raise important funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is such a worthwhile cause and one which has regrettably touched the lives of many of our friends and colleagues.”
