Peppard sees the power of paving

Peppard Building Supplies is reporting an upsurge in interest in paving products after expanding its landscaping range.

The independent builders’ merchant, based between Henley and Reading, has put a large investment into a range of paving product lines over the past 18 months, with a focus on natural products. It also created some showcase paving displays to help customers understand the look and feel of the products up close.

Sales and marketing director Ru Butler said: “While our primary focus is the local construction market, we have increased our stock of landscaping products and this has been welcomed by our customers.

“The natural paving ranges, including sandstone and limestone, are particularly popular. A number of developers have taken large orders because they know that even with an eye on margins, the natural products give a fantastic finish that their customers respond to.”

Mr Butler explained that this focus has meant an upswing in turnover for paving products, reaching almost £1m over the past year.

This is partly thanks to the time Peppard Building Supplies has invested in finding quality supplies, including brands such as the Natural Paving Company. This range of high-quality, ethically sourced products includes flagstones, block paving, cobbles, sets, step kits, kerbs and accessories, and all come with CE Marking.

“Our customers expect quality, so we knew we needed to look for the best suppliers,” Mr Butler said. “You can’t really beat the beauty of natural paving products. The products don’t fade, are durable and retain their looks over time.”
