Global construction solutions provider Terex has announced the creation of 50 new jobs at its manufacturing site in Coventry.

Terex employs 500 staff locally and exports to more than 60 countries worldwide. It is expanding its team to maximise production capacity and meet rising demand for its range of construction equipment. Alongside boosting staffing numbers, there are plans to invest significantly in the company’s production facilities, as part of continued efforts to progress technologies and develop new machinery manufacturing processes.

“The expansion of our team at Coventry is very exciting news, both for the local economy and for the Terex group,” said Neal Nowick, general manager of Terex Coventry.

“With a number of new product lines and strong economic recovery, we’ve seen sales rise dramatically over the past 12 months. As such, we made the decision to invest in both our site and team, which will not only help to increase production capacity in line with rising global demand, but also ensure machinery production remains firmly in the UK.”

He added: “Over the next few years, we plan to launch a number of new and improved products to deliver customer-driven solutions to the global market.”
